Robert L. Kirkman, M.D. has been named president and chief executive officer of Biomira and was also elected to the board of directors. The company has named Christopher Henney, Ph.D. chairman of the board. Dr. Kirkman was formerly acting president and chief executive officer of Xcyte Therapies, Inc of Seattle, WA, which concluded a merger with Cyclacel Pharmaceuticals, Inc., in March 2006.
